Bareboat Charter Master

Applied Sailing offers a comprehensive bareboat charter master training program which integrates our practical training with NauticEd’s theory courses and internationally recognized resume and certification system.

This training is for those wanting to skipper a charter boat on a sailing vacation.

Training Includes:

  • NauticEd Skipper, Maneuvering Under Power, Anchoring, Coastal Navigation, Electronic Navigation, and Bareboat Chartering online courses

  • 18 hours of on-the-water practical instruction covering bareboat charter relevant topics such as sailing a charter type boat, maneuvering in close quarters, reefing a roller furling mainsail, using chart plotters, sailboat systems, international sailing rules, international customs clearing, picking up mooring balls, pre-charter boat inspections, battery power management, fridge and freezer management, docking and springing, crew leadership



Upon completion of the theory courses, logging of appropriate on-the-water experience, and demonstration of competence, you will receive the NauticEd internationally recognized Bareboat Charter Master Rank with the Practical Competence Verification Stamp. This allows you to charter yachts worldwide (there are some additional requirements for the Mediterranean with which we can help).



At the end of this training and upon practical competence sign-off, you will feel confident with your knowledge and abilities to skipper and lead a crew on an international bareboat yacht charter sailing vacation.
